I'm going to New York in February. I am from Texas and the extreme cold. Coat that you would be warm but not too effeminate? I have a wool coat with layers and a hat the last time and I was cold.

Wool keeps you warm in the wind.
Strong winds require a jacket with a barrier penetration. like a leaf on many jackets.
I bought the North Face, Jack Donner, a goose down 800 ppi expelled with a parachute-type material. very similar to the Nuptse. However, I found the most beautiful jacket.
I would recommend to avoid an inner layer of the Under Armor with this jacket is a risk of cold!
The North Face and Columbia are very hot!
